God doesn’t want your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or any other social networking site you may be a member of.
He wants you.
Sure, we all know that Lent is about giving something up, but I feel as if most people stop there. Lent is a time for giving up something that consumes your life so that you may have more time to spend with God and let Him consume your life.
Although, I do realize that most people usually only vocalize the thing they are giving up and don’t generally announce to the world through a status update that they plan on spending more time reading the Bible, more time praying, or more of anything else to bring themselves closer to Him.
I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing if you want to give up a social network, chocolate, or anything else for Lent. I’m just saying that what’s the point of giving something up if you don’t decide to let someone as awesome and amazing as God take the place of whatever it was that you gave up?
